As the summer season begins, we're excited to introduce our newest limited-time coffee blend: the Waikīkī Waverider. Created in collaboration with our friends at Waikīkī Beach Services, this special blend is inspired by the iconic beaches, exhilarating surf, and the legendary Waikīkī Beachboys who have made history on our shores. Each sip of Waikīkī Waverider captures the essence of sunny days, ocean waves, and the timeless spirit of Waikīkī. Join us as we celebrate summer with this vibrant and flavorful tribute to Hawai‘i's coastal heritage.
Coffee Origins and Flavor Notes
In Waikīkī Waverider, we taste sweet melon, crisp green apple, and honey graham cracker. As a meticulously crafted blend, we're featuring a combination of the following coffee origins:
This unique blend consists of Papua New Guinea Jiwaka Aruba Natural (30%), bringing a fruity and rich complexity to the cup. Another component is Papua New Guinea Kuta Washed (30%), which adds a bright, clean acidity and delicate floral notes. Then Java Sunda (30%) provides a deep, earthy body with hints of spice, creating a well-rounded and robust flavor profile. Finally, our very own Honolulu Coffee Farms Kona Estate (10%) contributes a touch of lilikoi, dark chocolate, and raw honey.
Behind the Blend
The inspiration behind our seasonal blend comes straight from the heart of Hawai‘i's vibrant beach culture and our love for the water. One of our favorite rituals is catching the first waves during a dawn patrol surfing session.
After riding the morning swells, there's nothing better than stopping by our Sheraton Waikiki cafe, getting a freshly roasted farm-to-cup Kona coffee. It was one of these perfect surf session mornings that we crossed paths with Lauren, Hailey, and their enthusiastic team from Waikīkī Beach Services, who were also catching waves before they start their day.
As we got to know them, we realized how much we shared a passion for the ocean and the joy it brings. Inspired by their energy and dedication, we decided to create a coffee blend that encapsulates the spirit of Waikīkī's surf culture and a homage to sunny days.
